Antique Edwardian Revolving Domed Oval Silverplate Chafing Dish Food Warmer. In very good preowned condition; light surface scuffs to inner surface from prior use. Measures approx 30 x 23 x 21cm. Webster & Son produced ornate silver-plated, repousse pieces over copper like this covered oval serving dish. This piece features elaborate Dutch revival designs including windmills, dancing figures, floral/grapevine, and cherub scenes. The company was active from 1886 -1928 and were located in Brooklyn, NY. Like most of their antique pieces, this one shows warm copper tones where the silver plating has worn off. This is known as “bleeding” which reveals the copper underneath–a very desirable patina favored by collectors. Involves hammering the metal from the reverse side to create a raised, relief design. The pieces are silver-plated over a copper base. On the base (somewhat worn due to age) but still visible (see photos). This stunning antique piece comes from the estate of a retired diplomat.

Very small dent to the side. I’ve tried to photograph it (last but one) but it is small and difficult to make show up. Please judge for yourself from the numerous photographs which form part of the description and condition report. I haven’t cleaned it as I know some people prefer it. Vintage 1940’s Leonard 4 Piece Silver plate Teapot, Sugar Pot, Creamer/Milk Jug and Butlers Serving Tray Set. Lots of beautiful detailing all over. It has a good weight to it, it has been very well made. Size – Tray 46 1/2 cm length, 27 1/2 cm depth. Teapot 22 cm height, 23 cm handle to spout. Sugar pot 12 1/2 cm height, 12 1/2 cm handle to handle. Milk jug 7 1/2 cm height, 12 cm handle to handle. This is in good used condition with age related wear/tarnishing.
