All pieces are stamped on the underside of the handle of the spoons and forks with Pedigree Plate A1 T. & CO LTD mark and on the blades with the BY APPOINTMENT THOMAS TURNER & CO CUTLERS TO THE LATE KING GEORGE V mark. All knives have superior quality silver plated hollow handles that are attached to world famous. This is a vintage set of cutlery that has the normal signs of use with some surface marks, signs of wear and marks on the blades. It has recently been polished so is clean and ready to use. The wooden box does have some marks but has done a good job looking after its contents as per the photos.

The wooden canteen has a few marks / chips but has protected its contents well. Photos from my own Arthur Price brochures provide background information, these are not included in the sale. Checking through the set I note that one table knife has damage on its handle.

A fine quality table centrepiece Silver plated Epergne Having a stunning ornate design Featuring an etched fluted crystal glass vase to the top with a large etched crystal bowl below Standing on an ornate striated column having 4 mythical creatures to the top of the column n the form of dragons Having goat formed masks to the middle of the column The column stands on 4 beautifully cast mythical hippocampus creatures (upper body of a horse and lower body of a fish) Having an ornate footed base. The piece displays very nicely and is of lovely quality. The glass top and the bowl are both in excellent condition with no damage Just 1 hippocampus figure has come away from its tail fin otherwise the whole piece is in excellent condition. It has a height of 57cm, Diameter from the bowl of 27cm The base is 14cm by 14cm.

Silver service cutlery set. All pieces are stamped on the underside of the handle of the spoons and forks with the Oneida Silversmiths or Oneida Silver Plate mark. The knives are made the traditional way with superior quality hollow handles that are silver plated and blades which are made from Stainless Steel that have the Oneida logo on the underside. This is a vintage set of cutlery that has the normal signs of use. The wooden case has a few marks but has done a super job protecting its contents. The company specializes in mill turbines and wins a gold medal at the 1862 World Exhibition in London for its silver-plated tableware and serving dishes. The company becomes Straub & Sohn. Straub & Sohn merges with Ritter & Co. A luxury item producer, to form WMF and begins to specialize in tableware and silver. WMF expands by purchasing Orovit A. And at its peak employs 6,000 people. WMF is granted exclusive rights to take a cast of the original “Gates of Paradise” doors, which it uses to create a reproduction for exhibition at the 1913 International Building Trades Exhibition in Leipzig.
