All pieces are stamped with EPNS A1 SHEFFIELD Arthur Price ENGLAND mark on the spoons and forks on the underside of the handles, and Arthur Price of England SHEFFIELD mark on the blades. Knives feature superior quality silver-plated hollow handles attached to Sheffield stainless steel blades. This vintage set has the normal signs of use with some surface marks and signs of wear. The wooden canteen has a few marks / chips but has protected its contents well. Photos from my own Arthur Price brochures provide background information, these are not included in the sale. Checking through the set I note that one table knife has damage on its handle.

Arthur Price of England 50 Piece Silver Plated Cutlery Set – EPNS A1 Sheffield – Vintage – Excellent Condition in mahogany case – King’s Pattern. A truly fine example of British craftsmanship from the world-reknowned silversmiths, Arthur Price of England, this vintage “King’s Pattern” silver cutlery canteen is made to the highest standard using EPNS A1 silver plate. I believe the knife blades are all made from the highest quality Sheffield Stainless Steel. This canteen set contains. 6 x Entre Knives. 6 x Entre Forks. 6 x Dinner Knives. 6 x Dinner Forks. 2 x Serving Spoons. 6 x Soup Spoons. 6 x Dessert Spoons. The vast majority of this silver cutlery looks almost “as new”, probably because it has not yet been used. Only a few pieces have ever been used on one or perhaps two special occasions at the very most. It has always been well cared for/stored carefully and, as you can see from the photographs, it remains in absolutely beautiful condition throughout. All pieces have been very carefully checked and I can find very little to fault with it. With the exception of one dessert spoon with two tiny dark spots and the backs to the serving spoons having scratches (as shown in last photo), any other imperfections I have noticed were not easily seen. They were only visible in certain light conditions and under close scrutiny. Overall, I would describe this silver cutlery service to be in excellent condition with no tarnishing and very few pieces have very few, very fine/light surface marks. The blades are pristine and sharp as shown in the photos. It has been carefully repolished and cleaned recently, before being placed back inside their clear plastic protective bags (all from Arthur Price, with some new ones from them). This silver cutlery canteen has been well protected these last 30 years in a very heavy mahogany case weighing almost 3kg just on its own. It compliments this very high quality silverware so well. All-in-all this is a very elegant and high quality silver cutlery canteen set which presents beautifully at any dinner table and deserves to be used and admired for many, many more years to come. This is a high value item. Item will be sent via a tracking service where adult signature is required.
