Antique Silver plate 26 pc cutlery set Walker & Hall and custom box
Antique from 1837 to 1920 Silver electroplated 26 piece fish cutlery set in a wooden box. This set is made by Walker and Hall Ltd. The cutlery set includes 6 fish forks, 6 eating forks, 6 fish knives, 6 table knives, and one large fork and one large knife. These utensils have a celluloid handle. Celluloid was a common substitute for bone or ivory in the late victorian or early 20th century cutlery. The metal is a nickel base with a sterling silver electroplate. The silver has a beautiful shine to it. Each knife has an ornate engraving on the blade. The forks have a simple retro or art deco engraving on them. The metal is stamped EPNSS The case is wooden with a royal blue velvet lining. There is a key hole but no key The box shows wear from the utensils being taken out and put back in. Some of the forks do not fit snuggly in their slot The large fork and Knife have no slots in the box and just lay on top of the secured knives and forks.
