A magnificent and complete silver plated four-piece tea and coffee service crafted by the esteemed Sheffield silversmiths, James Dixon & Sons (JD&S). Dating to the turn of the 20th century c. Maker: James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England. A hallmark of quality and prestigious British manufacturing. Material: EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver), known for its durable, high-quality silver plating over a nickel alloy base, offering the appearance of sterling silver. Period: Edwardian / Art Nouveau c. Components: This rare and complete four-piece service includes. Coffee Pot / Hot Water Jug (Tallest piece). Teapot (Squat, rounded form with elegant spout). Classical Form: Each piece features a handsome, classical baluster (rounded) shape, rising from a subtly fluted or gadrooned foot. Art Nouveau Detailing: The service is beautifully decorated with intricate chased or engraved floral, vine, and scroll motifs across the body and around the rims, showcasing the high level of detail popular in the Edwardian era. Insulated Handles: The coffee and tea pots are fitted with ebonised wood or bone handles, which provide both a deep, contrasting colour and essential heat insulation. The scrolled handles are robustly cast for comfortable service. Finials: Secure, hinged lids are topped with decorative, matching finials.
