9 Sets, 18pcs Antique Mappin Webb Louis XVI Fish Service Sterling Silver & Plate
9 Settings, 18 pieces of Mappin & Webb’Louis XVI’ Fish Service / Flatware in Sterling Silver and Silverplate (SEE BELOW). The set is majority STERLING SILVER, with some pieces of silverplate. There are almost 6 sets sterling silver: 6 forks, 5 knives. Of silverplate there are 4 knives and 3 forks. In total this makes 18 pieces and 9 full settings of fish service. Very good antique condition. Sterling silver is in wonderful condition, only minor signs of prior use. No signs of wear to the silverplated pieces, as far as I can see. The 11 pieces of sterling silver are fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Sheffield, and years 1913 and 1914, and of course the M&W mark for Mappin & Webb. The 4 knives of silverplate are marked’MAPPIN & WEBB MAPPIN PLATE’ as well as the Mappin & Webb date mark for silverplate’h’, and the forks are marked’M&W MP L’. Sterling silver knives length: 21,8 cm / 8.6 in. Sterling silver forks length: 19 cm / 7.5 in. Silverplated knives length: 21,8 cm / 8.6 in Silverplated forks length: 19 cm / 7.5 in. Sterling silver pieces total weight: 607 g / 21.4 oz, silverplate pieces weight: 404 g / 14.3 oz. I measure in centimeters and grams and then convert these to US measurements.
