Two piece design with intact inner screen (see photos). Weight on my scale: 1 lb and 3 oz. I have made no attempt to clean this although it certainly would Polish nicely. It is meant to neatly sit on its back on its intricate legs. You can see some thermal inserts in the handle which are clever and help the heat not reach the handle. The knob on the insert piece is tight and looks good and the fit is good. The only dent I see is on the inner lid of the small insert piece and I give you one photograph of that toward the end of the photos it doesn’t affect the looks match unless you are really studying it carefully. 2 piece silver plated teapot which is by silversmith James Dixon & Sons is marked to the base with it’s registered design number of 533068 which dates to 1909. This rare teapot which is in the shape of a melon has a detachable lid and is part of James Dixon’s Simple Yet Perfect range. These teapots have a unique design so they can be turned onto their side supports to brew the pot of tea and then turned back to pour by holding the top handle. A wonderful and rare design that would make a great addition to a teapot collection. Dimensions: 18 cm (7) Length including spout. 11 cm (4 1/4) Width. 17 cm (6 1/2) Height to top of handle.
