Antique WM Rogers Silver Extra Plate 50 Piece Flatware Set + hostess set
A very nice Roger’s silver 50 piece silver plate set, plus a really hard to find matching 4-piece hostess set. Pieces are marked Wm Roger’s MFG. EXTRA PLATE Original Roger’s. Included is the original guarantee certificate, which states made by Roger’s Silversmiths- in Connecticut since 1825. The international silver company, Meridian, Connecticut- Successor- the only makers of Original Roger’s silver plate. An interesting tidbit is on the certificate: “In addition to the overall plating, there is an extra overlaid deposit of pure silver at the point of greatest wear to insure long service”. This set was released in 1951 74 years ago! And was discontinued long ago. They come to you in their original boxes, minus the original tissue paper that crumbled in my hands due to old age. This is an awesome set that can be used or kept as a beautiful collectible!
