Antique Deykin & Harrison 55 Piece Cutlery Set Old English A. 1 Silver Plate
A beautiful antique/vintage cutlery set for six persons in the “Old English” pattern probably dating to the 1930s. The date is based upon the faux bone knife handles but the company was in operation as Deykin & Harrison between 1895 – 1907 after which time the business was transformed into a limited liability company under the style Deykin & Harrison Ltd. Active until the late 1930s. Silver plate is notoriously hard to accurately date. The set consists of the following pieces. 6 x “Firth Stainless” faux bone handled dinner knives by Gregory of Sheffield. 6 x “Firth Stainless” faux bone handled butter knives by Gregory of Sheffield. 6 x Dinner forks five by Deykin & Harrison one perfectly matched rogue forks by William Hutton & Sons. 6 x Dessert forks three by Deykin & Harrison and three perfectly matched rogue forks by William Hutton & Sons. 6 x Soup spoons by Deykin & Harrison. 6 x Dessert Spoons by Deykin & Harrison. 6 x egg/tea spoons by Deykin & Harrison. 2 x Ladles by Deykin & Harrison. 3 x Tablespoons by Deykin & Harrison. 2 x Knife Rests (unmarked but fitted the canteen perfectly). All pieces are in excellent condition (barring one soup spoon as pictured) with no loss of silver plate and knives still bright and clean.
