Antique Christofle 24-Piece Silver-Plated Cutlery Set – Chinon Variation, Paris c. A fine antique silver-plated housewife cutlery set for six persons, made by the prestigious French silversmith Christofle, Paris, circa 1870s. This 24-piece set comprises 6 table forks, 6 table spoons, 6 dessert forks, and 6 dessert spoons, all presented in the original leather-covered presentation case. The flatware is crafted in a variation of the Chinon pattern (also known as “Filet” or “Vieux Paris”), featuring raised ridging along the edges but without the typical shoulders, creating a refined and elegant profile. One dessert spoon is in a slightly different variant-the classic Spatours pattern-with a more fluid and curved design. This set reflects the height of French craftsmanship in the late 19th century and is a wonderful example from one of the most celebrated names in silverware. Box: 30 × 24.5 × 6 cm Table spoons: 21.5 cm (6 pieces) Table forks: 21.5 cm (6 pieces) Dessert spoons: 18.5 cm (6 pieces) Dessert forks: 18.5 cm (6 pieces) Total weight: 2414 g. Light wear to the cutlery and some surface scuffing to the box consistent with age and use. One dessert spoon has two tiny dings to the bowl; another dessert spoon has a bowl set slightly lower than the others. The Spatours dessert spoon shows a small scratched area on the reverse of the bowl and features a monogram on the reverse of the handle. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
