Complete place setting for 12 in fabulous Parquetry Mahogany Wellington Style Canteen with original key & lock. Wonderful early Edwardian (possibly late Victorian) canteen of silver plated cutlery in OId English Pattern by celebrated maker John Turton of Sheffield. Pieces mainly by John Turton (JT) but with a few additions / replacements as listed fully below. 12 Main Knives & Forks JT (all knives with fabulous handles) Knives 24 cm long marked Firth Stainless, Sheffield. 12 Side Knives & Forks JT. Knives 21.5 cm long marked Firth Stainless Sheffield. 12 Fish Knives & Forks. Knives 22cm long marked GWS&S A1. 12 Large Soup Spoons Marked EPNS A1. 12 Smaller Soup Spoons or Fruit Spoons JT. 12 Dessert Spoons JT. 12 Egg Spoons JT. 12 Tea Spoons JT. 12 Coffee Spoons JT. 6 Large Serving Spoons JT. 4 Salt Spoons JT. 2 Mustard Spoons JT. 2 Sauce Ladles Atkin Bros. Complete 5 piece serving set. Some pieces will require a light polish before use. There are just a couple of replacements, all in Old English Pattern, and well matched to the original JT pieces as follows. Main Forks – two replacements. Large Serving Spoons – one replacement. Dessert Spoon – one replacement. Most of the pieces in this set looks almost unused if not completely unused – a few with marks from storage etc, but overall in fabulous condition, as is the canteen – please see all photos. Apologies for reflection of my light fittings to the top of the canteen – this is just a shadow, not a blemish.
