ANTIQUE 58 PIECE Silver Plate ART DECO CUTLERY CANTEEN – WM Hulton & Sons Ltd and J. I have a lovely collection of 85 pieces of vintage canteen of silver plate / stainless steel cutlery that was kindly donated to me by a close friend who auntie had died. Apparently it was her mothers canteen of cutlery and she inherited it when she died. It’s at least 150 years old. This superb heritage set comes in a lovely solid wooden canteen case and locking keys. It actually weighs 9,660 grams. The solid wood Canteen Case are dimension are (L47cm x H13cm x D 33cm). (Note: some items are not part of the original set but they have been added later and fit loose in the case). The knives and carvers are stainless steel and come with lovely cream Bakelite handles. The remaining pieces are silver plate. The cutlery is in excellent antique condition for its age with occasional wear here and there and superficial age-related blemishes, particularly to the carvers. The case’s exterior is in excellent vintage condition, It only has a few minor, superficial scratches and marks which are age-related. The interiors are in excellent condition with attractive blue felt lining and all the original case labels are present and intact. The case’s hinges and clasps are in full working order and the lid lifts smoothly to 90 degrees and stays upright perfectly. The baize to the bottom of the case is a little worn as pictured.
