Antique Walker & Hall 4-piece Silver Plate Tea Set, 1935 Great Condition, 1 Owner
WALKER & HALL 1935 4-PC TEA SERVICE, LOVELY CONDITION (Hard & Silver Soldered). This listing is for a Tea Pot, Hot Water Jug (or could be used as a Coffee Pot), Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl. One owner from new since 1935. Nice clear marks on underside of each piece. The style/pattern number is 53312 followed by A1 (this denotes “best quality”). Each piece has a Walker & Hall Flag mark in the style that confirms it was early 1930s. Underneath the flag on each piece is an enclosed single letter, the teapot has the letter F, the other 3 pieces each have the letter G. (I have been unable to determine exactly what this letter means). Underneath this is imprinted the wording “Walker & Hall Sheffield”. Underneath that is the wording “Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered”. There are some other numbers underneath that but I have not yet been able to determine exactly what these numbers are. On the teapot is the number 15, then under that the number 21. On the water jug is the number 30, then under that the number 5. On the milk jug, just the one number of 32. On the sugar bowl, just the one number of 15. I have tried to photograph all the marks but I’m sorry that they are not very clear. The teapot holds 2 pints. I think the water jug is also 2 pints. The milk jug is 12 oz and the sugar bowl 17 oz. All the photos are of the actual items for sale. Unfortunately the camera flash sometimes makes the items appear a bit tarnished. I have tried taking photos with different backgrounds in the hope of getting more accurate pictures. All pieces are in good condition. There are no dents but obviously there are a few scuffs due to age. This tea service was in daily use up until fairly recently. There is a small amount of discolouration on the inside of the teapot, presumably from the tannin in the tea but other items are fairly clean on the insides. All my items are from a smoke-free & pet-free home.
