We are offering for your consideration a very fine and hard to find, silver plated set of Asparagus Servers housed in a presentation Box. The set was manufactured by the Sheffield, England firm of Maple and Company established in 1841. The pieces are marked, “Made in England” and, “A1″ noting it is their finest of silver plate. There is also an English Registry Number 808684, that dates the set to 1930. The set is comprised of An Asparagus server and 12 individual Tongs. The diner would then grab the Asparagus with the tongs and eat the vegetable while holding it in the tong without getting his or her hands messy. The server measures 7.75 inches long and each individual tong measures 4.50 inches long. The set sits in a gold velvet and satin lined presentation box. The box measures 12 inches long x 10. 75 inches wide and is made of flame mahogany on the top. Two latches on the front hold the box securely closed. The set is in. There is no silver loss or repairs. The box is in Great Condition with little wear to mention on the inside and the outside. A grand set to serve Asparagus in the finest of Victorian tradition during the holidays or special dinners with family and friends.
