57-Piece Cutlery Set consisting of Arthur Price & Butler of Sheffield with Canteen. On offer here is a 57-Piece Cutlery Set consisting of Arthur Price & Butler of Sheffield w/ Canteen. Very kindly donated to St. Firstly, please note that the 57-piece set consists of two different manufacturers – Arthur Price and Butler of Sheffield – but the included pieces nonetheless appear to be of very similar if not identical patterns/degisns. The 12 knives (6x 23.7 cm long, 6x 21.6 cm long) that sit upon the top section of the canteen are all marked “Arthur Price of England” upon their blades; the 12 pieces that comprise the fish eaters are marked “Butler EPNS A1 ENGLAND BS5577″ upon the undersides of their handles; and the remaining 33 pieces are marked “EPNS A1 Sheffield England” upon the undersides of their handles. To the best of my knowledge, the pieces on offer all come in a sound structural condition. Aesthetically, though, please note that they do bear some evidence of scratching over their surfaces as well as some mild tarnishing. Hopefully, though, the latter can be mostly resolved via a quick polish. Also be aware that some pieces have experienced some localised losses to their surface layer, whereby a dark-coloured speckling/pitting effect can be seen, which is perhaps most pronounced in the case of the soup spoons. I have uploaded a number of photographs of the pieces (showing both of their sides), so please do take a close look at these to help make your own assessments regarding their condition. Bear in mind that these are used, donated pieces, so do not come in an absolutely pristine condition. The 57-piece set comes with a wooden canteen which, in its closed position, measures approximately 45.6 cm wide x 30.1 cm deep x 9 cm high. The lid of the canteen opens via a hinge mechanism. Structurally, the canteen remains in a sound condition with no evidence of any breakages, repairs, cracks or chips. Aesthetically, though, the canteen is rather scratched in places, and the scratching is of greatest intensity upon its front and back; it also bears some signs of rubbing and scuffing (mostly around its edges and corners), and has also acquired some occurrences of (mostly light) impact marks/dents. Internally, the canteen has a fabric-lined layer, which has developed a slight presence of surface fibres. Accompanying the canteen is a sponge insert to separate the pieces of the canteen’s upper and lower sections. Again, I have uploaded a number of photographs, so please do take a look at these for guidance regarding condition. Pieces of paperwork for Arthur Price and Butler’s of Sheffield come with the pieces of cutlery. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
