With original key and working lock. Beautiful detail – carved galleried detail on wooden table. Cutlery held in place by little metal turn buttons – keeps everything in place when opening and closing the lid. Lid is hinged and securely supported on original and strong stays. Forks held in place behind knives. Box is lined in deep blue velvet and labelled. In a beautiful wooden table – every item has an original label to show where they go. This was a wedding gift in 1935 so is at least 85 years old and there is an exquisite silver dedication plaque inside the table as shown. 12 x soup spoons. 12 x dinner knives. 12 x dinner forks. 12 x dessert spoons. 12 x dessert forks. 12 x dessert/ cheese knives. 12 x egg spoons. 6 x tablespoon serving spoons. 2 x sauce ladle. 1 x soup ladle. 2 x mustard spoons. 2 x salt spoons. 2 x jam spoons. 1 x 3 piece steel carving set – knife/fork/steel sharpener. Very little used but it is over 85 years old and as such there is the odd surface scratch or tiny mark but overall its just fabulous and in stunning condition. Would appear to have been used infrequently!
