Made in Sheffield this set is made from finest quality silver plating, EPNS A1. Originally started by Henry Wigfull under the same style and address (John Street Works, Sheffield). The firm was converted in 1899 into a limited liability company under the style of Lee & Wigfull (Sheffield) Ltd. The firm used the trade mark INSIGNIA PLATE. 62 Piece Set Consists of. All pieces are stamped on the underside of the handle of the spoons, forks and fish knives with L&W or W. R EPNS A1 Insignia Plate made in ENGLAND mark and on the blades with the Insignia Plate mark. All the knives have superior quality silver plated hollow handles that are silver soldered to world famous Sheffield stainless steel blades. This is a vintage set of cutlery that is in my opinion in good condition, you will find surface scratches as you would expect from a 1950s set. It has been in storage for a while so will need a polish before you use it for the first time. The solid wooden canteen has a few marks consistent with age and the worst being a nick on the back. On opening the canteen you will find a red felt interior which has done a fabulous job of protecting this cutlery service.
