A silver plated Art Deco style three piece tea/coffee set in tray by James Dixon and Sons. This is an exquisite vintage silver plated tea set in the stunning Art Deco style made by James Deakin and Sons. The set comprises: tea pot, sugar bowl and milk jug all displayed on a minimalistic tray. Hallmarked on the base with a maker’s mark and stamped with a number on each of the three pieces. The teapot could also be used for coffee. Dimensions: together with a tray 41 cm length x 10.5 cm width. 15.5 cm height x 10.5 cm width x 9 cm depth. Two pieces measure: approx. 9cm height x 9.1 cm width (front) 5.5 cm width (back) x 9.5 cm depth. Conditions: Some marks and surface scratches. J Dixon & Sons (James Dixon & Sons), founded 1806 in Sheffield, was one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. They were manufacturers of pewterware, electroplated Britannia metal, silverware and electroplated nickel silver. Their products included hundreds of items for use in the kitchen e. Bowls, cutting-tools and the dining room e. Tea services, cocktail shakers and mixers as well as items such as candlesticks. The firm continued to be a family-run enterprise until 1976.
