Antique 24 Piece Silver Plated Dessert Set Mother of Pearl Handles Boxed
A fine boxed 24 piece silver plated dessert set with mother of pearl handles. The knives have a decorative engraved design. The knives and forks are impressed EPNS and have the makers initials F. This set comes in a wooden box with a brass cartouche to the top and it also comes with a key which could be the original. Inside the box is a PAT No. I would imagine this set dates to the late 19th or very early 20th cent. All the knives and forks are in very good condition with no damage. The silver plate is in very good condition. They do have light surface scratches but commensurate with age and use. The inside of the box is in very good condition with just light wear. Externally the box has some scratches with the odd bad one although I have waxed them which has helped and overall the box is not to bad at all. As mentioned above the box comes with a key which locks the box. I have polished this set so they are ready to use. The box measures just under 35cm long by 25.5cm wide by 6cm high. Each knife measures 20.25cm long and each fork is just under 17cm. Thank You For looking.
